Off-campus ROTC

My daughter will start college this fall and will need to travel to another university for her AFROTC program about 30 minutes away. She will be doing this twice a week.

Has anyone here experience this commuting situation? I don't think it's a big deal but I was just curious if any cadets had any problems with it (i.e. feeling different or isolated).

My daughter says she doesn't mind and that she's excited to meet cadets from all the other universities. I hope she keeps up that positive outlook.

I don't have experience with this situation but I have talked with people who commuted. Generally speaking, they say the longer the commute, the less likely the commuter will stay in ROTC. There are lots of issues at play including travel time & cost, campus parking availability, less time to participate in extracurricular activities with fellow cadets, etc. that tend to erode interest.
