I'm trying to send the immunization form to the 10th Medical Group via the e-mail they gave me: 10MDG.SGOMA@usafa.af.mil.

The thing is, every time I send an e-mail, I get this...

I've tried several times, insuring its usafa.af.mil, but the error message comes back as us.af.mil. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I would fax it to them, but we don't have a fax machine... Any help/enlightenment would be greatly appreciated!

Yea that was a problem for many people. I ended up faxing it from kinkos or any other place like that which can send faxes. You could also probably check with your school and see if they could do it for you.

We also tried to email with no luck. We even tried going through their website. I called to find out the deal. The immunization clinic person was very nice, admitted that the email and website were messed up, and said to fax the docs. We faxed. You can then follow up with a call to acknowledge receipt. The idea to fax through your school office is a good one.

Also, I didn't notice at first that the basic cadets need an adult polio within 6 months of admission and a TB test within 6 months of entrance. It's in the fine print. I thought DS has all the shots, since everything looked covered and he had all the requirements for school. Just recommend you double check the requirements. The less you have to get on I Day, the better.

The nurse who filled out DS's immunization record caught the TB test requirement but missed the adult dose of polio. Both have to be done within 6 months of admission. The four pediatric doses of the polio vaccine are oral and the adult dose is a shot. We didn't catch the polio vaccine requirement until after the DS had the TB test, so we ended up going to the doctors three times. Once to get the TB test, then 48 hours later to read the TB test and the third time to get the polio shot. Also, nurse didn't circle the type for each dose on the DPT or Polio Vaccines. I wonder if USAFA would have made DS get both since type was not specified..... Anyway, it worked out ok for us because I caught it before we left the doctors office the 3rd time. Thank goodness for these forums, it's great to know everyone is communicating all these little things.:thumb:
