Flyersboy114 - it is one mile for the presidential.
The APFT i- that you take as a soldier - is a two mile run.

I'm not sure about a December Board but the time frame for the October Board was about a 5 week turn around give or take a week. Keep checking your AROTC Go Army status and your DoDMERB status for info pages. The message will change to "You have been Offered a Four Year Scholarship" to your Schools (fill in your choices) and a letter about a week later. I've noticed that we received a letter from one of my sons chosen schools PMS congratulating him for winning the scholarship about a week earlier than the official announcement.

My app was reviewed at the November board (for the first time) and just today my online status changed to say I had the scholarship.

Did your POC send you an email this time about your application going up for review for a Nov. board? I never got one but I did get one in October but was not awarded a scholarship. My status still shows I have not been awarded a scholarship but I was wondering if my application even went up for review. Thanks in advance

We got an email Nov 17th saying that son's file was forwarded to the next board for review. Website status has not changed (please shedule interview. . . ), but we did get a phone message from the LTC at Fresno State regarding AROTC. . . . answering machine cut him off before we heard what he had to say. Dang answering machines! Hopefully hear something tomorrow. . .

Oh okay, so maybe I still got a shot haha. But, if my file was sent to the Oct. board wouldn't make sense that it would be sent to the Nov. board? I never got an email for the Nov. board though...

AROTC scholarships are awarded through the spring. If you are a qualified candidate academically and are the scholar/leader/athlete model the Army is looking for then you have an excellent shot.

I was told that once your file is submitted to the board it remains with them for future meetings for consideration, so they are looking at new submissions as well as the others who were not awarded a scholarship from prior sessions.

Oh okay, makes sense. That's what I thought would probably happen. Does anybody know when the Nov. results will be posted online?

If AROTC boards are like AFROTC boards it is about 4-6 weeks for the results to be released. Look around Xmas break.

We understand the Nov board met the week before Thanksgiving and results were announced the first week of December. First came the phone call from an LTC at on of the schools of choice, then the letter arrived in the mail, then the website was updated announcing he recv'd the scholarship. Now my son gets to wait for the waiver from Dodmerb.
 good luck and hopefully you will hear soon.

Yeah, seeing as I haven't heard anything yet, does that mean I was most likely passed over on the November board?

We were wondering the same thing. Son's file was complete before the November boards, but he hasn't heard anything yet. Maybe he got passed over this time, but he has an LOA for West Point (AROTC is plan B). November must have been really competitive!

You should have received a letter stating your application was complete and sent to the boards. There should be a POC (point of Contact) listed on that paper, call that person and ask the question. They will definitely be able to answer the question.

My son didn't receive a letter stating his packet was going to the board. I believe he told me he received an email in late Sept/Oct stating his packet was complete. The website had the "interview" message up there until after the offer arrived. Maybe the process is not set in stone? try not to worry too much, although that is easier said, than done. It is hard not to have "a plan"!

Once again, similar story - received three system-generated emails on 12/6 saying that the file was considered complete and that we should hear something no later than May 30th. This after receiving an email on 11/17 saying that the file was complete and forwarded to the board for review. May try calling the POC again, but prior conversations haven't been that cordial.
Probably just keep waiting. The real wait is for a waiver from USMA (AROTC has already granted a waiver). Waiting appears to be a very common theme on these forums. . .

Is your POC Mrs. C? If so she warmed up after a couple of calls and helped us out.

I don't think there is a December board is there? I have a dilemma because my first choice school has accepted me and I have to decide whether to enroll or not by Jan. 15 since I applied ED. Only problem is I haven't gotten an AROTC scholarship from them yet and I cannot go there without it.

Wow, I have a dilemma now. The January board will meet from the 13th-15th and as an early decision applicant at my first choice school I must commit by Jan. 15th. So, now I have no idea what to do.

josh5sox, have you called the admissions office of your top choice school and explained the dilemma to them? I'm sure they would be willing to work with you to extend your deadline. Is this an early decision where you have contracted to be bound to their acceptance decision, or early action where you have a choice to accept or decline? Would you mind sharing what college is your top choice?

My top choice is Furman University in Greenville, SC and it is considered Early Decision but it is non-binding until Jan. 15th when you decide whether to enroll or not. So it is basically the same as Early Action, no idea why they call it ED lol.

The next board is from Jan. 13-15th I believe, anybody know if there is ANY way possible to find out of any scholarship award within a couple days of the board. I have to commit to my first choice by the 15th and cannot go without a scholarship.
