US Coast Guard Academy AIM 2009 Application (http://admissions.uscga.edu/i2e/AIMapp_2009/)

Academy Introduction Mission (AIM)

It is important that you make an informed decision about applying to and attending the Coast Guard Academy. Our Academy Introduction Mission (AIM) is a one-week summer program that gives you the chance to see if the Academy is right for you, and if you have what it takes to succeed.

If you are selected, you will experience the rigor, discipline, and rewards of the Coast Guard Academy personally, just like a cadet, for one week in July following your junior year in high school. You meet faculty and staff, learn about our academic, military, and athletic programs, talk with cadets who have sailed the Eagle, flown aircraft, and started their leadership journey, and meet with Coast Guard professionals who are protecting our nation right now.

Success at AIM is a good indicator of success at the Coast Guard Academy. Typically, 50% of AIM grads earn appointments to the Academy.

I would have liked to apply, but my state baseball tournament is that week I believe or football camp. I have responsibilities with those teams I can't abandon. I will try my best to see if it can work though!

To anyone who is thinking about going to the Coast Guard Academy, I highly advise them to at minimum apply to AIM and go if accepted. It will give you an inside look at the Academy and you will experience life there from all aspects. I one week you will test yourself spiritually, mentally, and physically. It will be a challenge but a worthwile one. I went to last years seminar (ECHO WEEK 2) and had a blast. I learned so much about the Academy and my abilities in engineering and endurance. In addition to learning how the Academy works and making great friends for life. It was definetly a great experience I suggest to anyone who thinks they are up for the challenge. ^_^

:thumb:My daughter just finished her AIM application and supplemental package. We just got back from the open house on Friday 2/20 and it was very informative. She was doing some more research and has a question.
If your not one of those fortunate enough to get accepted into the AIM summer program ,does your application stay in the loop or do you need to refile a new one?

Thanks
