Just a heads-up - there is a conflict between the Academic Year calendar that was posted last week and a notice posted on the USMMA website today.

The Academic calendar shows Sept 4-6 as Parents Weekend, with Acceptance Day on Sept 5 (this is Labor Day weekend).

The notice today says that Acceptance Day is Sept 19; presumably then Parents Weekend would be Sept 18 - 20.

I will give the school a call when I can and will let you know what I learn.

Per the latest on the USMMA Parents page. This date has a tendency to flop around due to Labor Day and a religious holiday a few weeks later. I confirmed the 19 Sep date with the parents program coordinator, with whom I do some business. That would mean the normal PW sked Fri-Sun.

I just got an email from our Parents Association President indicating a conflict with a religious holiday and the new proposed date. The new date isn't definitive and might change again

Heads-up. Parents' Weekend dates aren't final

From the parents' page http://www.usmma.edu/parents/

Posted March 5, 2009:
The date for Parents Weekend is being reconsidered.
As soon as a definitive date is finalized, it will be posted.
Thank you so much for your patience in this matter

From the parents' page http://www.usmma.edu/parents/

We are pleased to announce that the date for Parents Weekend is officially September 11 - 13, 2009.
Acceptance Day is September 12.

The Mariners will be playing against Coast Guard for the Secretaries' Cup.
It promises to be a very exciting event.

This couldn't get any better!!!:thumb::thumb:

Parents weekend, Acceptance Day, beat retreat AND a Coast Guard game????
Who could say "no" to all that? I'm as good as there!

Since we are new to this, how do you get tickets to the USMMA vs CG game on parents weekend?

The last time that I went was in 2006 and I just walked up to the window at the stadium and bought tickets. Of course, it was easier then because Long Island was being hit by the remnants of a hurricane.

They will send out a whole list of events to which you can purchase tickets when the time gets closer. Even if you don't buy one then you can always get one at the gate. Never been a problem in the past, there is always plenty of room.

Was there at that misserable game...The field looked like a lake!

The parents association will either email your or send you a packet about the meal plans and events for the weekend. You will be able to purchase all your tickets at that time.

If your son plays football....have him leave your name at the ticket booth. You will get 4 tickets per NCAA rules. The other sports that day do not require tickets...not sure about Volleyball though.
