Pom Squad/Dance Team?

I was looking at the USAFA athletic website and I saw that they had a pom squad, so i googled it. I found an article written about it and it said it was a dance team. I my self have had almost 13 years of structured dance training. So i was wondering if anybody had any information on this subject.
 
I'm not on the team, but two other 4* in my squad are. They hold tryouts during transition week (end of BCT).
 
There's dancing and cheerleading. I think they're like two different sub-teams.
 
correct me if i'm wrong, but the "varsity" team wears the white and do all of the stunts/flips at the games, while the "jv" team wears blue and dances to another section of the crowd.
