My son is debating who to go to for his final recommendation. He has teachers and a coach, but has raised the question whether a peer rec would be a good idea. His AOL said in the interview that the Academy likes to see strong friendships, so I guess that's where this is coming from.
I suggested he use his close friend's father, who is a middle school teacher at their school and mentors two of my son's activities. He can speak to school involvement and community service (son volunteers to help out in the middle school) and the friendship issue as well from a father's point of view. Bonus--this teacher is a former marine. Is that a plus?
