I am kind of sad that I'll have to go without my music collection (or access to music) for a few months. What little things are you going to miss during the next year?
:tomcat:
Where's the F-15? or the F-22?

Shot down by the F-14! :shake:
The thing I missed the most my Plebe Year (USNA) was simply being able to walk around without being hassled.

Shot down by the F-14! :shake:
From 100 nm away, by an AIM-54C, out of range of all onboard armament of the F-15 and F-22.
Why oh why are they retiring the F-14 and the world's longest-range air-to-air missile system?

I'm gonna miss just relaxing, like right now, I'm sitting on my couch just after a liesurley lunch from Burger King, drinking a root beer and eating a Hershey bar all while watching the World Cup.
I'm also gonna miss the Tour de France.:frown:

Only if you can track the F-22!
Seriously, the F-14 and the Pheonix is a great combination. Too bad, they are no longer going to be with the Navy.

Here's a tip: If basic at USAFA is anything like when I went through, the things you'll miss most are 1) sleep & 2) peace & quite.

Phoenix missiles won't be necessary soon anyways. F-22's and JSF's can't be seen, so they can carry the smaller missiles in to take out aircraft. Why use a much larger and much more expensive missile?

Because the other guy DOESN'T have F-22's.
That said, the days of the regimental Backfire raid are long gone. New systems are also in place.
Where would we be without progress, eh? :frown:

I'm sad I have to miss Pirates of the Caribean and Superman. :( I know what you mean. A lot of music and movies are coming out June 27th-30th. If only they had bumped them all up a week...or even a day. Oh well. Just watch us fall behind the times in music. We'll come back home after four years, turn on the radio, and say, "Wow! This song rocks!" when they're playing a song that is four years old. The things we sacrifice. :)

True, but when someone is like, well, THAT came out in October 2008, you can be like, "O bummer, I think I was up in an F-16 then. Man did I lose out." :)

I couldn't agree more. Sleep deprivation was the worst. However, don't worry about, or dwell on the things you will miss. You won't have time!
