I've submitted my PCQ (even though I was not supposed to because I had submitted a Summer Seminar App. The AFA Counselor said it was fine)

My Application Status says: "Applicant"
Your Application is: Competitive

My question is what does this mean and what should I do know? Do I wait to hear back from AFA to see if I meet basic eligibility requirements? Also, how do I show to my ALO that I really am interested?

Thanks,
Corey

It is time to wait. I remember my application looking like that for a very long time. When you get a nom or the Academy deems you competitive your status will change to candidate (at the earliest in June).

Youv waited this long, it shouldnt be long before you get an answer now...I remember checking every day, sometimes I still do just to make sure I really was offered an appointment

Good Luck and hang in there!

I thinked I liked the old academyadmissions.com better, but all the information regarding what you should do when is still there.
http://www.academyadmissions.com/#Page/Admission_Dates

Also, dig a little and look through older threads regarding the application process. It's not hard and there has been so much information posted over the last few years about what you should do and when.

I'm basically in the same place now. On the candidate page, or whatever the proper name is for it, it says that updates on the "Academic Performance" must be updated by official sources once you become a candidate. However I am listed as an applicant but I cannot update this section.

Is there an issue or is it just because I applied for and was offered a place for Summer Seminar?

Also, I had my ACT score report sent to the academy but no change shows up on my page. Do I need to do anything further?

Finally, for updates with GPA and class rank, who do I get to report changes to that?

Sorry for so many question and thanks in advance...

I would contact our admissions counselor. He/she is the one that can tell you why you're not able to update your academic performance, ACT scores, GPA, etc.

I thought the actual application does not open until after SS, but things may have changed. Contact your admissions counselor.

The academic performance section can't update, and you don't need to change it yet. That part was just the pre-candidate stuff, where they do the initial screening and determine if you're competitive and can move on or not. I don't think the actual application for competitive applicants have opened up yet.

Also, you don't change to candidate until you recieve a nomination.

This is not true, the academy may deem you competitive and change it to candidate before you have a nom. If they don't do it prior, then it will change to candidate once you get the nom.
