Army ROTC 2023-2024 3rd Board

Additional 3AD allocations were just distributed directly to programs Monday, 22 APR.

Check for upgrades from 3AD to 4-year and expect for some non-selects to be contacted with offers directly from schools.
Who would handle upgrades? Are you saying individual schools might offer it? Or is Cadet Command processing additional upgrades?

Anyone know how to see confirmation that your letter of intent to accept has been received?
You'll log into the portal. Click on status. Scroll to the bottom and it will say the school name, the scholarship, and the status. If the status is P you are pending. If its A, you have accepted.

My letter of intent doesn’t show up in the portal upload even after I upload it. I emailed cadet command a copy with it on Tuesday. Do you know how long it usually takes to get validated?

Usually if you upload it, 2 hours. If you sent it by e-mail, may take a few. Have you tried a different browser or computer? Id still try to upload it if you can.

My son received his scholarship from the 3rd board in March, but still has not received the award in the mail...here we are in May.
My son also was a 3rd board winner- he received his last week in the mail. It’s an impressive presentation! Yours will probably come soon! Don’t know if it is alphabetical but last name N.

Thanks, still have not received it as of yesterday. Hopefully in today's mail....

Hello all, typing this through tears. My son has had a "peanut allergy" for as long as I can remember. He was pending a waiver for his scholarship but we did not hold out much hope. One day he came to me and said the one thing every parent fears, "Mom, I have to tell you something, but you promise that you won't get mad?" I said sure son, what is it....as I braced myself. He said I accidentally ate some peanut chips left here while doing my homework one day and nothing happened so I just kept eating them. I was shocked, I was mad at him - he could have died. I was surprised, I was over joyed. So he just ate peanuts everyday since.

So we then got a request for AMI. We went to the specialist and sure enough my son popped positive on the test and the doctor was not willing to do a food challenge because the wheel was so large... I said ok no worries as I looked at my son, who began to eat peanuts in his office. The doc was shocked and a little pissed at us, but we knew this was the only way because his blood levels and skin tests come back so high and no doctor would take a chance with us. However, after seeing it for himself, he was then willing to do a food challenge the next day - which my son passed with flying colors!!!

My son has been cleared for peanut allergies. Here are the reasons we believe it most likely always comes back positive and why he may now pass so easily....

1. My son is allergic to Birch Pollen - it has the same proteins as peanuts and sometimes causes false positives. He is currently taking shots for his Birch allergy. Did they Birch Pollen immunotherapy help with the peanut allergy. So could this be the reason he can now eat peanuts if he was ever actually allergic? Not proven and do not try this at home? Just a theory.
2. He may have just had a histamine intolerance - much different than an allergy. He has been taking Diamine Oxidase (Amazon) which will help with a histamine intolerance. Another doc had told me that antihistamines only treat the symptoms of histamine, they do not lower it. So once you are off antihistamines - your body still has a high level of histamines in it that can cause reactions if more high level histamines foods or pollens are introduced. But diamine oxidase breaks down histamine.
3. We wanted him off all antihistamines that he was taking for his environmental allergies - so we were told that a natural antihistamine, Quercetin, has been proven to lower histamine. Well, lowering histamine is the best thing you can do for all allergies including food. Been doing a lot of research on this.

I am not a doctor, but I have been going through this for many years with my own son and when all the stars came together - the result was short of miraculous!

Part 2 will be coming soon as my son also has a "shellfish allergy". After this revelation, my research reveled that dust mites have the same protein as shellfish (tropomyosin). Currently, his worst environmental allergy is dust mites. As I mentioned before, he is currently getting shots for environmental allergies - the mixture includes dust mite! After he has done a full year off shots - I want to have him retested to see if his IGE for shellfish was lowered. And if so was it lowered enough for a food challenge? If it was - you might see me back on this post with more tears of joy!
