The father of one of the 3rd classmen is retiring from the Navy in May. He is a Captain based in Norfolk, Va and is applying for the Supe job next week. He is in his early 50's and would be great for the job! Our son is good friends with his son and I would like to help him get the job. How do I get him to the top of the application pile?

How do I get him to the top of the application pile?

By him being the best qualified candidate . There is a push to get a graduate as the new Supe; however, we'll see if that happens.

I would expect the new Supe to have extensive background in financial management, some experience in an educational admin setting of some sort, and someone who knows how to work a room full of politicos.

Retiring USCG Commandant, Admiral Thad Allen, would be someone to seriously consider, if he was interested.

He is probably as good as they get but not USMMA grad. Listen to his advice on which grad to select.
