NROTC - USMC Frost-Call link for FY2010 Scholarships

thanks!

Thank you for that link. It was most helpful and informative.:thumb:

The link was very informative, I never realized how few scholarships there were.

Gotta do the math....

CL1VE:

Yup 274 Eastern Region and 284 Western.... There are 6 Marine Corps Recruiting Districts - 3 East, 3 West... Divide 274/3 = 91.33 per Eastern District...Within 1st District there are 8 sub-stations, so 91.33/8 = 11.42 scholarships per sub-station. That meant that NJ got 11 scholarships.

If you can, try for a Cadet/Midshipmen school. Could serve you better when in OCS. You won't be as stressed by the "Mickey Mouse" stuff. Maine Maritime has a great program, they are Midshipmen and they have Marine billets available. Yes, it is Maine, but it's a small school focused on sea-going stuff. Give it a look if VMI, Norwich, etc... are closed off due to Quota. Penn is a huge school and if your the type of young man I think you are, you might want a "tighter knit" college experience. Just my two cents. Check-out their website at www.mma.edu

ditto on BobMcMahon's thoughts on checking out the Maritime Academies!
Based on the list he posted I see that SUNY Maritime (Ft Schuyler, Bronx under the Throgs Neck Bridge- directly across the sound from Kings Point ) also has Marine ROTC scholarships still available and it also has rolling admissions so you are not too late there either.

Good luck!

Don't have it on my home system...

Thanks Bob

I think i mioght have worried more had I known all this Background info. Im intrigued by the small number of nationwide USMC-ROTC entrants. We have received a phone call that S has been selected as one of them at his #1 school. Blessings abound. Now for an official piece of paper which says "Congrats, now show up at 0600 on August 9th..."

More later.
