Rumor has it that 2013 is being Recognized as I am writing this. Hope so, and congrats to 2013.

Oh my! I do hope you're right! That would be so fantastic! (Now I'll try to tamp down my enthusiasm in case it's just another rumor . . . )

Is the fact that the waterfront web cam is not showing pictures in real time any indication?

the Plebes are officially no longer plebes.
Recognition took place this morning March 27, at approximately 0830.
congrats to all that took part.
it was fun ITing your children this morning :)

I am relieved that my rumor-mongering proved to be accurate :)

Congrats to 2013. To the parents of the Plebes-no-more - have fun with Sea Year LOL

2KPsons, Somehow the tone of your "have fun with Sea Year LOL" is like a litttle gray cloud passing over my sunny day . . . Is it that bad?

sea year is the most incredible adventure your kids will ever have. and it is the bright shining light of this place. don't say it like that. sea year is AWESOME

Sea Year is fantastic, don't misunderstand me. But for the parents, we do end up with a few more gray hairs than we started with. :)

Congratulations 2013! Your parents and relatives are proud of you!

Congratulations to 2013.....this is one of "those days" at the Academy that you will never forget. Enjoy!

CONGRATULATIONS CLASS OF 2013!

Can anyone say what Recognition Day consists of (without giving too much away for next year's class)?

Just wondering, is it physical or ceremonial, etc.

Thanks!

its kindof like a few hours of indoc all over but everyone is just having fun....alot of team unity activities...mudpit...flour, eggs, mustard, ketchup, shaving cream sprayed all over you. the best feeling since i arrived here over 8 months ago. it is defientely a great day.

Congratulations to 2013 and their parents and thanks to everybody at KP who had a part in turning our "kids" into young men and women!!!

All the pictures I've seen of Recognition (from prior years) show midshipmen wearing boiler suits covered in mud or shaving cream doing push-ups and the like. But they are all SMILING in the pictures, so whatever it is, they're happy to be doing it!
