Wow, that is fantastic. Definitely some good schooling going on. In my son's school, he was the 1st who accepted an academy appointment in about 5 years. Since him, none the last 2 years. We do have some that apply, just not accepted. We did have 2 in the 5 year gap get accepted, but one chose Yale and the other chose Stanford instead. But it is great to see more coming from the home school and the smaller schools. My son's class graduated 450. Not huge, but not tiny. Seems like the smaller schools have more interest in the academies. Our school however does usually get a handful or so a year who enlist in the military. And usually another handful or so that want to go ROTC through our local University. Either way, anyone who is willing to serve their country, whether through the academy, ROTC, OTS, enlisted, guard or reserve; you all have my greatest respect and appreciation.
