Is the NWL open yet?

Does anyone know if West Point has opened the wait list...don't seem to get any answers and if I do they are all different.

From what I can tell, the NWL is always in play. DS was placed on the NWL back in January and received his appointment in February. I know the obvious question is why was he placed on the NWL before being provided the appointment... sorry, but I have no idea. Not sure this helps or not.

Thank you and congratulations!! We have been told the list wasn't open yet, call back, still not open, may not open enough make other plans etc. We are Northern California, may I ask what state you are in and would that even matter?

I am not aware that the NWL has anything to do with what state you're from. Son found his Admissions Officer and MALO to be the best source of information. They were more than happy to address his questions each time he called. As you are aware, this is one of the most competive years in history so that may mean fewer names on the waiting list. BTW - Why do you want to know if the NWL is open or not?

Being the NATIONAL waiting list, the state would not matter.

ALTHOUGH, the list "could" be closed and the person above who was on the list could have simply gotten an appointment because the person who initially received it in his 10 person slate for his nomination was disqualified or declined giving the second ranked person the appointment. Just a likely possibility since some people were told the list was closed.
