Who's still waiting and what do you think your odds are?
I think ours is a 45% chance at this point. Nothing to base that on but gutt feeling.
The academy threads have posters that give them inside step by step information into the application process. It would be nice if some Army official at Cadet Command could give some official insight into how this process works. It would be nice to know how many scholarships are left to be offered. What is the cutoff number on the OML. Things like that would be helpful. We're in the dark here.

I have a feeling my DS isn't going to get a scholarship. His stats were competitive in all (academic, leadership, etc.) but sports. He spent four years in HS in marching band, but had no HS sports. He's been sking and snowboarding for years, but that's probably not enough.

Time will tell. He's doing ROTC regardless and can try again next year for a 3-year scholarship.

We also don't feel our son will be offered a scholarship. He has been before every board and from reading posts here, I just don't think his stats are strong enough for this competitive year. He's still holding out hope because he wants to go to an OOS, but we've moved on to Plan B and he will be doing SMP at an in-state school. I know he will do great this route as well, and it may even work out better financial for us in the end.

I'm so sorry that you are all waiting still as I know how stressful it is.
Keep the faith!

I'm "waiting" as well - but I've already committed myself to West Point and AROTC was supposed to be plan B for me. I hope someone else who really needs and hopes for it gets awarded in my stead!

I'm still waiting. I waited too long, and foolishly sent in my items just before the deadline so I'm waiting for the results of this board.MY status hasn't changed and I didn't get the email saying that CC had all of my materials until after the March board.

The only thing I'm worried about is my GPA, its a 2.8 cumulative. My test scores are good though, 28 act and a 1270 SAT.

Just crossing my fingers. It would really help since my first choice is a private school and it'll be quite expensive. Regardless I'll still do ROTC and probably contract during my sophomore year.

You might want to tell your Contact you've accepted an Appointment from West Point to free up a spot. I guess it's too late now though...

Just curious, did everyone receive notification that all of their materials were received at CC? My son didn't, but he was getting emails saying they didn't have everything when, in fact, everything had been sent in. Of course he replied to them each time they contacted him to let them know that it was all in.

I also emailed last week to inquire if his application went before the March board (he was late in getting everything in) or if it would be up for the first time at the April board. I haven't heard back. Now I have a bad feeling about the whole thing. :frown:

My son never rceived anything telling him his application was complete. He actually kept getting letters stating things were missing.
Call or email cadet command. They should be able to tell you if the file was boarded and for which one.
Good luck.

Thanks, that makes me feel somewhat better.

I had actually already emailed them last week. I'll give it a couple more days until I contact them again.

You may also try contacting the PMS who did the interview. We received an email from the PMS saying "Just wanted to confirm with you that your packet is up before the first national selection board. Excellent job getting everything in on time and following through." We also received an email reply from CC that "your file is complete", but that was after we asked. They never sent anything on their own to let us know this.

Plan B sounds good. It's good he gets to break up BT and AIT. Oldest son is at AIT right now-he's doing good but he really hasn't had a break since Boot Camp and his AIT is 5 months long.
He'll be finished in time to begin his sophomore year this Fall however, he may be required to deploy in November. We'll see.

Just another thought-one doesn't have to have a scholarship to join ROTC. One can join, meet the standards and contract which would at least qualify for the monthly stipend, if I understand this correctly. Correct me if I'm wrong. Just more options.

Thanks - I shot her an email. Hopefully she'll respond. This board has been great for information and encouragement. I'm so glad I found it! :thumb:
