Do I have to get my wisdom teeth removed before beast even if they don't bother me?

Nope. You must see your dentist, have the dental form completed and get panoramic x-rays. Dental care is available at West Point. If you need to have them removed while you are a cadet they will take care of that for you.

Lucky.
I still have mine too, but my dentist wants that I remove them.
Do wisdom teeth account for anything in the Medical Examination thing?

You can look at the bright side. Having them does mean that there is a small chance they could start hurting anytime. One of my friends had to have hers removed a couple of weeks ago which didn't exactly help since we were in the middle of the school year. Going through it now to prevent possibly going through worse later. :thumb:

The best answer would be "it depends" ... read the instructions in your DENTAC packet carefully. There are conditions that warrant the removal of wisdom teeth.

One thing to consider is the recovery time. My kids are tough and stoic and usually bounce back quickly from illness, etc., but having their wisdom teeth removed knocked them out of commission for quite a few days. On the other hand, a friend's daughter who has a myriad of health problems sailed through it with no problems and didn't miss a beat. I don't know how much time WP would allow you to recover but it can take some time to recuperate. We did ours in the summer once school was out.

wisdom teeth...

If you do it before I-day you won't miss out on plebe summer, classes, or any other activities if you wait. My plebe had his wisdoms removed and all his shots done prior to reporting; depending on how may you need removed, recovery may be more comfortable at home, too.
