We just received an email titled "USNA Candidate Academic Background System" saying the DS needs to complete a math placement and update his academic records.

Just wondering if anyone else receive this - I don't remember seeing anything about this on the forum
 
DD got it, too. This is what I was talking about in another thread in which I asked if anyone had received anything yet, I found something online referring to this and I occasionally wonder if we are missing some information.
 
I'm a little concerned because I haven't received the CABS email yet. Is it because I just got my appointment this month and they might have processed my acceptance yet? Thanks
 
We just got this today--son will start it when he gets home from school, as its an early release day and no baseball practice! No rest for the weary!

cracked, It could be that they just haven't processed your acceptance yet, because it specifically says its going to those that have already accepted an appointment. It does come by email, so make sure the email you have on file with CIS is correct.
 
I received the email today as well. Has anyone completed the math placement test? I'm going to do it next month after I've studied for my IB exams.
 
I completed the math placement tests today. After I finished the tenth section, it asked me if I wanted to try to validate calculus. I clicked yes but haven't taken the calc exams yet. I already have the AP score needed to validate, but I want to brush up a little before I do the validation exams just so I don't embarrass myself :)

What was on the math placement exams? Just algebra and trig?
 
It says you can't print it out, save it or discuss its content with anyone, sorry...

Remember that the whole point of these tests is to place you in the class you need to be in by identifying what you do and don't know.
If you do the best you can, things will work out the way they should!

I have not taken the tests yet so I am not discussing the tests. However when you log in and go to the Math section, it gives you an area to click to see some topics covered on the placement exams. However it doesn't show you any topics about the pre-calculus exam. It also says it lets you take it in 10 sections of like 10 min each so you don't have to take it all at once!
 
Son received the email too. Started answering the general questions and now he's off to Colorado for an Orchestra competition......and SNOWBOARDING. I hope the bubble wrap doesn't fall off on the slopes!
 
Have any other appointees not received the email to take / submit the placement tests? Anyone know if this is being sent to all appointees?
 
The email says that it is only being sent to those who have accepted their appointments.
Also, it seems like it is being sent either individually or in very small batches (everyone on this board has received it at a different time/day), so be patient!
