My daughter received a letter of recommendation from her AFJROTC instructors respectively to send to MOC for a nomination. Both letters specifically state that they would highly recommend her for the USAFA and becoming an officer in the Air Force.
Our dilemma with that wording is that she has not decided on USAFA as her number one choice. She is waiting until after she attends SLS and NASS before making that determination (still waiting on AIM).
Now for my questions:
Should my daughter ask the recommenders to change their letters to reflect a more generic recommendation to any service academy?
Are there any negative consequences associated with sending in a letter of recommendation for a specific service academy but then indicating on the MOC’s application that USCGA is your number one choice—assuming the MOC requires you to rank your preferences?
Any suggestions, comments, and opinions are appreciated!
Thanks!
