It may be a little too soon to be thinking about retirement, but I'm curious. Does the 20 years before pension start on A-day or graduation?

Although I think retirement for time in service counts for A-day, right? (i.e. you retire at the 20 year mark, you receive retirement pay for 24 years of service)

No you don't - your retirement pay will be calculated from graduation day.If you retire on Day one of your 20th year of service you willl be getting paid for 20 years of service not 24, Prior service personnel going to MAPS will get their time at MAPS counted but not their time at the Academy.
