I hear that the application process for USMA is like a weighted grade.
From what my Liaison officer and a family friend tell me, its 60% Academics (SAT, ACT, GPA), 30% leadership (asb, extracurriculars, team captain), and 10% physical (Fitness Assessment test). I may be wrong, but this is what I've been told.
But its on a point system as well. For being team captain one year, you would get "x" amount of points, but if you were ASB President as well as Team captain, you would get even more points. (The point system is used for the national wait list I believe, to determine your ranking).
So first, you need to be fully qualified and then if you're wait-listed, hope your profile is strong.
This is what I've learned throughout my application process and I was wait-listed "Fully qualified Non-Select". Then got picked off national wait list. (I even got a rejection letter too, got the appointment just last week)
