new fitness test

Hey Tex,

I asked this question when I visited for a tour a few months back and I was told no. The Academy has their own fitness test that differs from the Air Force standards. I am not entirely sure of the differences, however I do believe the Academy has a pull-up portion and the Air Force does not. Hope that helps.

P.S Hook'em Horns!

I thought the AD AF fitness test was playing 18 holes of golf with no cart!:shake:

Air Force Academy Fitness

The Academy fitness test is no joke. I dont know what the minimums are for males but i am a female entering the class of 2014 and my minimums are at least 1 pull up, 5'6 long jump, 60 sit ups, 22 push ups, and a 600 yard sprint in less than 2:23 seconds. The test has to be completed in under 15 minutes which leaves little time for rest. If everything else isnt already enough the altitude in Colorado Springs is very unforgiving. I am active duty right now and let me tell you that compared to this the AF test it a joke. I hope you all have been training and cant wait to meet my fellow classmates.

Congratulations on your straight-in appointment. Best of luck to you!

Also remember that that scoring the minimums are not enough...it can still land you in recondo based on your AOC discretion.

There are 5 events
Pull-ups
Standing Long Jump
Sit-ups
Push-ups
600yd run

Each event can earn between 0 and 100 points. You need 250 to pass.

To give you an idea, I can barely pass the USAFA PFT (best score 291), but I can get an "excellent" on the AF fitness test pretty easily.
