Hey, does anyone know if there is any type of paintball groups/teams that are organized by the academy or just by classmates? I'm thinking of going here next year.Thanks.

Don't mean to sound as harsh as this may but if whether or not "paintball" or pretty much any other particular extra-curricular activity, especially if it's not a varsity sport, is available in an organized fashion to you is a key factor in your decision as to whether or not attend a particular college, then USMMA, and likely any other Federal Service Academy, isn't going to be a place where you will be happy.

I'm not "dissing" your desire to continue to participate in this or any other extra - curricular activity. I am just saying that the culture, mentality of the rest of the student body at USMMA and/or the other Service Academies, as well as the reality that even if there is "paintball" or any other club sport today at USMMA - that doesn't mean it will be there next year given budget realities and fluctuating participation in such activities - all mean you may well find yourself in a place without organized access to the activity and among other young men and women who have differing values and priorities than yourself.

Jasperdog said it better than I could have. If the existence of a paintball team at KP is going to drive your decision I urge you to seek fulfillment elsewhere. This place is very difficult and very demanding.

Yes, it's a club sport called "Airsoft" and I believe it's run in conjunction with the U.S. Army

Wow, my video has found its way to the forum. I did not see that one coming.

The airsoft team participates in at least two events per month as well as working with the US Army liaisons at KP and a retention unit in NY. We have traveled to several states in order to participate in both large and small scale events. The club is funded through the contributions of the mids involved.

What jasperdog stated is true. If this is one of your main reasons for wanting to attend KP, or any other service academy, then I suggest that you reexamine your choice.

Did he actually specify if this was a deciding factor in his decision to attend KP or was he just asking if USMMA had some paintball program out of curiosity since he is planning on attending?

If I remember correctly, paintball shares locker space (storing equipment) in the same place as Airsoft team... They are rec sports.
EVERYTHING else plebe year will come before this.
Best of luck to you.

Airsoft-Military Simulation

The airsoft team as been converted into a military simulation team. This team is a majority of people also in army ops. there is an initiative to restart the usmma paintball team.
