Could someone please help me out on finding out what the total cost of STP will be?

I am guessing around 1.5k
 
My son is taking a 4 credit course (Bio) and is an out of state student, he is paying around $3780. There is around 280 students enrolled at this time, he just got his letter from the school about the STP proram with the requirements and expectations
 
I'm in the exact same boat, your son. He should be able to see the total amount on his "Post View" account.

Where do you find the information on "Post View"?
I cannot seem to find an STP link on there

NROTC-Hopeful, I believe what you're looking for can be found by going to Post View>Financial Information>Make a Payment>Pay on My Account.

This will lead to your total amount due, which should be your STP fees.

BTW, enjoy STP. Take it all in while you're there. Meet your soon to be co-matriculants/brother rats, get familiar with the buildings and facilities on post, study for you class, and maybe head down to the Maury or in town on one of the weekends. Instead of sitting inside and watching movies or facebooking with the girlfriend/boyfriend back home take advantage of spending the quality time getting to know the people that you will spend the next four years with. Lastly, don't be surprised if the upperclassmen don't pay you much respect or seem to unenthused with your presence. I can remember how the upperclassmen treated myself and my classmates during my time at stp. Mostly the hostility will come from the seconds and thirds, but don't pay much attention to them, mainly the thirds :thumb:. We all know how the corps feels about thirds anyways. Isn't that right Bruno :biggrin:.

LGL- this was excellent advice. For all of you starting STP in another week - this was a great addition that will give you a leg up in getting prepared academically and physically for matriculation. You are really foolish if you squander it. Having said that- you should know that STP is not the Rat line. You may discover that you or some of your peers in STP ("pre-strains") are different folks under pressure than they are when they are in the relatively relaxed world of STP, so don't go there and flap your gums about how you will burn the Ratline up with your overall awesomeness. You just may be setting yourself up for a more unpleasant August than it needs to be (and it will be unpleasant anyway!:eek:) But - for those of you heading to STP in a week- this is a great opportunity to get yourself ready for your matriculation and first year at VMI. Good luck
