Longest distance ran during Beast?

longest run depends on what squadron you are in...

During BCT, be ready for 20min self-paced run, then an "indian run," then a series of 1 minute sprints. It is about 45minutes of running. Be able to run for at least 3-4 miles at a good pace (7.5-8 mph min).

long enough to break you

False.

True.

If you ran in high school, running here will not be a problem. Like raimius said, the morning PT runs are self paced, so it's what you put into it.

Don't forget the Academy is sitting high at 7000 MSL. I was breathing heavy walking up a set of stairs!

Wait until 2nd BCT and you'll likely go on rifle runs. Many of your classmates will fall out.

That is true. Those runs were not pretty. If you have your boots, run a couple times in them over the next two weeks.

What's a good distance/pace to run with the boots? 8min for ~4 miles?

Let's not even talk about the Retiree 45! (which is why the Pentagon escalators have become my best friends)

What happens if you "fall out" of formation while running? personally, I have very poor running skills. Even though I have been working hard to get better, I know I will be near the back.

I would think it's a bad thing if someone falls out. If one falls, all fall.

It's not like we'd leave them behind though...

Do not fall out unless you are injured. None of the BCT runs are impossible. Some runs are gut checks--that's the point.

If you're injured, a cadre member will walk with you. If you just ***** out, your classmates will pull over to the side of the road and get beat.

If you are having trouble and are slowing down the flight, swallow some pride and hand your rife off to one of your classmates. There will be those who are able to carry an extra rifle without considerable effort and would be willing to do so to help see the group succeed. Try not to be weak through.

What are you guys talking about with "firstie 15", "UPT 30" and "Retiree 45"?

What is about the average speed ran during rifle runs and average distance?

to answer part of your question

I'm pretty sure the firstie 15...ect. is the weight you gain when you're a C1C

My assumption as well. You've heard of the "Freshman 15" at a normal college - figured it just took a few years longer at an academy!
