The internet part is easy. Yes, there's internet in everyone's rooms. So much of your life with classes and such are done via email. So network connection is not a problem.
Ipod is tricky. Can't really have it as a freshman, but I'll let the current cadets get more specific.
Military clothes: Question, are you prior enlisted? If so, are you going straight to the academy or doing a year of prep school first? Either way, you basically go to the academy with ONLY the clothes on your back. They will issue you everything you will need. Your service dress and such, if you are enlisted, are different than a cadets, so they are of no use to you. The ABU's seem to always change, so it's best to let them just issue you everything. Have TMO send everything you own; minus toiletries, cell phone, and the clothes on your back, to your parent's house if that's ok with them. Then, after Basic Training is over, you will know what you can have, and have your parents ship that. E.g. personal computer if you want it, guitar, hobby stuff, etc... Depending on how much stuff you own, you might want to have a few separate boxes for TMO to ship to mom/dad. e.g. one that has the kind of stuff you want shipped to you or brought out if they visit during parent's weekend; and another of semi-permanent stuff that you can leave at your parent's until you come home for thanksgiving or christmas break. You can sort through that stuff then.
Anyway, just my suggestions. You walk in the door basically naked with the clothes on your back, razor, tooth brush, etc... and they will give you EVERYTHING else you will need. Worry about the rest after basic training. Unless you don't have any family to keep the stuff with. Then check with your TMO office. They "MIGHT" be able to store it at the academy. But don't expect to be able to get to it for MANY MONTHS. good luck. mike....
P.S. Don't forget to have some money on you. About $200 will do you fine. It takes time for pay to get started and straightened out. You will need to buy a few things here and there.
