dodmerb drug test?

No drug test. But you will be asked if you've used marijuana, alcohol, tobacco, then the more hardcore items (i.e cocaine, etc.).

You are expected to be 100% honest. It is in your best interest to do so. It's likely that if one were to become an officer that they would have to obtain various security clearances to progress in their careers (depending on their career of course), where you maybe asked questions (under a lie detector machine) about drug use. If you lied on your DoDMERB forms, but told the truth on the lie detector that would cause some problems.

If you've used any of these substances don't feel like you will immediately be disqualified. They will ask you to explain your use. Something like "Drank alcohol under peer pressure at a party in 9th grade, but completey regret the use" is less likely to disqualify you then "drink every weekend but stopped last weekend because I realized it may prevent me from fulfilling my dreams."

There have been posts in the past about people who didn't disclose substance use 100% on their DoDMERB forms and then when it came time to report and they had to fill a second round of forms about drug use, they ran into a tough predicament.

Long story short, honesty first.

i agree honesty first, but what if the alcohol use is very rare, like only 4 times or so. since that is very rare, should you be honest and then have to explain it, or say no...

Be honest and explain it...is the requirement:thumb:

I just went to a DoDMERB appointment on Wednesday and they took a urine sample. What was that for? I thought it was for a drug test.

I'm sure Larry can amplify, but there are many reasons for urinalysis other than a tox screen. Checking for hematuria (blood in urine) is probably one.

Blood, protein, and PH. The nurse tested it right in front of me. They basically stick a piece of paper in the urine. The paper changes color. Then they match the color to a sheet that tests for blood, abnormal levels of protein, and PH level.
