According to Collegeboard, my scores were sent to USMA a week ago... I check the Candidate Portal today and still no scores. Anybody experience this too? Do you guys know how long it will take for them to update the portal?

Yeah, I sent scores probably a week and a half ago and nothing on the portal. I'm assuming that they are just backed up because of everyone sending scores and transcripts and what not. The best option is to probably just wait a little longer, if they don't get up in another week call admissions and see what the problem is.

Do we have to send scores? I never officially sent them thru the college board, but they are listed on the left hand side of my portal. I believe I just typed them in the first day.

Are you just talking about updating scores maybe?

I've found from experience it takes up to three weeks for the scores to be sent and processed. So expect three weeks and be surprised when it's sooner!

How do you know when they have received it? It's not listed under the file completeness status column.

The test scores are listed on the left side of the portal under Academic Scores. You'll probably be able to tell when they've received your scores if the ones listed are the most current ones you've achieved.

I always thought those scores were the ones we listed when we signed up for the initial candidate screening...not that mine have changed or anything.

^^ In his case the self reported scores were listed before the official scores were even sent thus made the inquiry about official scores' arrival.

Alright, so I should see two lines with the first being the self-reported, and the second being the official ones, correct?

Kid,

It is early. It takes a few weeks for WP to get the scores and put them on your portal. If you have a question (about ANYTHING) , scroll down to the bottom of your portal and there is a link to contact them. Ask if they received your scores yet. They get back to you very quickly.

Mtnman17: You can't just type them in. WP has to receive the official scores from college board or from your guidance counselor. Make sure they have the official scores otherwise you'll wonder why nothing is moving on your portal.

Good Luck!!!

I don't think so at all. I only had self-reported PSAT and ACT scores when I completed my Questionnaire back in December, and since then I submitted official ACT and SAT scores in January, March and May and they appeared on the portal soon after. Only my highest scores are there and it doesn't say official/self-reported or anything.

Then they probably have received my scores by now. I started my questionnaire around early June and sent my last SAT scores around that time also.

So if they're on my transcript, when it is sent in (request form/contact has been filled out:thumb: ) is this official enough?

For my nominations, they have stated that that was all that was enough. But for West Point, I'll suggest you sending it through Collegeboard, even if it costs like $10 (Collegeboard and their stupid money-hungry standards).

Peter,

In my son's case he took ACT once. So the self-reported and the official scores were non-distinguishable. And I don't believe there are 2 lines, only one line for SAT, another for ACT. They filled the rooms with unofficial scores for him but those numbers never changed (took once). Now if you see a change in the scores in the portal, then I think that means they got your updated scores.

Emailing them or calling them if you have any doubts. They are nice people and you hone communication skills.

True, it doesn't cost me anything or anytime...just some added reassurance. Probably will call them just to make sure tomorrow morning.

Very correct. And morning is good. He usually was lucky to speak to someone in his morning calls.
