When does the new/next year's application start up?
My son was an AIM applicant, not accepted, but offered a chance at a Fall weekend visit which he hopes to do. I'm thinking all that AIM paperwork served as a preliminary application. He has a good friend in this year's class and we have been lurking here on the forums getting good advice and watching the emotional rollercoaster of the whole process. He attended summer seminars at AFA and USNA, passed his CFA, has a complete application in at the Naval Academy already, and completed his DoDMERB appointments this week.
Anyway, he's chomping at the bit and wants to make the most of his time before fall sports and IB/school responsibilities take over. Any certain date?

If I recall correctly, last year the application went up in early-mid August.

I think the website does say late August, however I'm remembering things ran a little late last year, and the apps. were posted in the first week of September. He sounds like he has a pretty good heads-up on getting prepared early. -officer

Last year they announced the application as going up September 1st. It will probably be the same this year (speculation).

I will, especially with all of the support I have been getting from cadets, family, and so forth :). Except this year I will be waiting at UConn instead of home.

Thanks for asking,

-Andrew

Go Go YankeesFan,

Fantastic you're applying for 2015 and are at UConn right across the way from the academy. I'm sure your persistance will pay off. Keep cool in the heat you're having there. -officer

That's Conn College across the street...he's referring to UConn in Storrs...

How you holding out officer? Any letters yet?

No letters yet, but I've received 2 emails from Hank and Betsy Teuton (Vespers leaders). The first one said that ds was a greeter and took up collections at the first Sunday service, and the second email said that they saw him at Vespers. They asked him how he was doing, and he said that he was glad to be well into the second week and that he was eating anything not nailed down. I've been sending lots of food treats (3 big packages so far), but I think he received his first package late(the package I took with me on R-Day).

I've read letters from other parents on the ListServ that said his company cadre didn't deliver that drop off package because they hadn't earned them yet. But all in all, I'm really doing fine and moving on with some things of my own. I'm not to worried about ds. I know he'll be fine and has wanted this for a very long time. I write everyday, pray alot, and send food/misc. items, but when I do get my letter, I'll be posting it on the ListServ PRONTO!

Thanks for asking BossMan. See you on PW, right? -officer

Good that you've heard some info from a reliable source. He should be fine.

Hope to make it to PW. Missed last year for the first time in a while. It's a great weekend.
