Hello everyone
I just received another letter from my DD and everything sounds great. But she did ask for some items, compression shorts, sports bras, socks and some other things. My question is does anyone know if the USNA uses a specific brand or contractor to get these items or just any generic item will do. I don't want to get her something and it doesn't conform to the standards. Will any blue compression shorts do, white sports bras. 3 weeks till PPW
Thanks

Sent my son with two white and two gray compressions shorts in his lacrosse bag - he wrote and asked that we send black compression shorts - saying that they (meaning the academy) likes black compression shorts better.

Not sure the same rules are true for the girls or her company - but son definitely wanted black ones.

No required brands. Go with what fits and works for her. As to the color of the shorts blue or black will work but if company or sports teams wants a spacific color they will let her know. The shorts will be worn under the regular PE gear so not a super big deal.

My DD (now a 2/C) used/uses both white and black compression shorts. The "issue" sports bras are Champion brand, and I think they have Hanes underwear, but the detailers didn't care what brand they used. However, while they are wearing summer white uniforms it is essential that undergarments be all white. Once they switch to SBDs, your DD will probably want to send things in her favorite styles & colors. Socks can be a bit more tricky, as they are more easily seen. I don't know the brand of their "issue" socks, but the white tube socks say "Navy" across the top of the foot, so they're bound to be a special purchase. If you send ones that are all white or all black, the brand shouldn't matter.

Thank You.
DD Black shorts are on there way. : )

Just remember that the USNA laundry is murder on everything it touches. So (more for women than men), go for "sturdy" undergarments or plan to wash them yourself. The finer things just won't hold up.

Laundry is boiled in a bag and then returned in the same bag. Everything comes back grey. If it comes back at all with rips in the bag. Lost items are not considered their problem. Women should try to do some of their own laundry if possible and have extra sets of sports bras. Black compression is probably the best since it works with the blue for PE. Loved the sock "suspenders" for the Summer Whites and agree that all undergarments should be white:shake:. Guys can wear anything that comes back that says possibly clean. Women are more particular and probably more correct.
