I am currently trying to apply to the AFROTC or the Army ROTC programs. My problem is that I have a healed L5 parz fracture on my medical record. I also have minimal signs of degeneration in a disk. Is it worth going through the entire ROTC process? Is it heard of of people with my condition making it into the program? Please share any response to my questions with me. It would be much appreciated.

You should post this question in the Dodmerb section of this forum, and email Larry Mullen. His email is everywhere and he will help you out

You cant succeed if you never try. But it also depends on how bad you want to be an Army Officer or A.F. Officer I take it?

I have emailed Larry before. He, in a long way, said that I can never know unless I go through the entire process. He still won't tell me if anyone has made it into the program with my condition.

Uphoff7, try a google search for "Army Regulation 40-501 -- Standards Of Medical Fitness". This is the Army document for all disqualifying medical conditions.

Listen to alfonso, post on Dodmerb or contact MullenLE, the man is the epitome of the definition of resource.

He actually works for Dodmerb, and you can get 100 posts of look here or there, but he is the one that can tell you from experience what to do.

Best wishes!

Thanks for all your help. I'll look into that google suggestion and i am currently in email tag with Larry. Thanks again.
