Just an FYI for all you parents, 2014 will be receiving their computers on Monday (2 Aug). Not quite as nice as a call home, but an email is faster than a letter!
 
Do you happen to know what operating platform? I want to send my cadet a printer and want to make sure it's compatable.
 
computers will be issued with Windows 7. Any printer with USB connection will work.

I suggest you let your cadet tell you what kind of printer they want as they will have an idea of how much space they have for it.
 
the printer/scanner/copier combos come in very handy. the computers are gonna be compatible with any brand name printer. i have an hp and love it. works great
 
That was the way I was thinking of going, the 3 in 1. Is there a need for wireless, or would that be a waste?
