Ok, so I am a candidate for NROTC, AROTC, and USNA. I know that the USNA sets up your dodmerb account before you get accepted, and the rotc opens up the account after you are accepted.

Today I was getting blood work done for the dodmerb, and I assumed it was for usna, but I noticed on the sheet, it said ROTC. Is this a good sign?

I know that one of the ways to find out if you made the rotc early is if your dodmerb account "mysteriously" opens up, and with the past August board, keeping my fingers crossed that I made it.\

So anyways, is this a good sign?

It's a good sign when NROTC or AROTC shows up on your DoDMERB account. As I recall the Concorde paperwork has ROTC for applicants to both the SAs and ROTC programs. Good luck!:thumb:

Alright, I noticed it on the form, and the doctor said "Oh, your here for the ROTC thing?" so my heart kind of jumped a bit.

However, will it say NROTC next to Agency? Or where would I find it, if you still remember?

From an AFROTC parent it will say NROTC, BUT it could also have AROTC and USNA too.

DoDMERB is not like the boards, they are DoDMERB. I have never heard of people taking multiple DoDMERB exams because they are applying to ROTC and an SA. The only thing that may come into play is if you have a medical issue needing a waiver/additional testing for one branch and not the other.

I.E. Color blindness is a biggie for Navy, but not as much for AF or Army. Thus, you can meet the req for them, but need to have additional testing or waiver for Navy.

For my daughter last year the DoDMERB site listed:
NROTC

AROTC

AFROTC

Each appeared after she was awarded scholarships.
------------------------------------------------

For my son this year it currently says:

Agency: US Air Force Academy
Current Medical Status: Qualified (as of 22-JUL-10 )

Agency: US Naval Academy
Current Medical Status: Qualified (as of 22-JUL-10 )

Agency: US Military Academy
Current Medical Status: Qualified (as of 22-JUL-10 )
------------------------
I am assuming that when/if he is awarded any ROTC scholarships that an additional agency (AFROTC, NROTC, AROTC) will show up.

Good luck!:thumb:

Where do you go on the DoDMERB site to find this information? The application status just shows dates eye exam and physical were taken and dates exams were faxed to DoDMERB. Will this populate once the board has reviewed the physical findings? It's been about 2 weeks since the exam.

Short answer YES!

It has been a couple of yrs, but when we went down this route, Wed. was the day it seemed to be the update day.

You will see DoDMERB will go down, don't panick, it will come back up in a day or so.

ROTC DoDMERB at the docs does not mean you have a scholarship. It is required to meet the board. I wish I could remember what it said on the DoDMERB site, but that is the one you should pay heed to.

Same thing with me. I'm an NROTC candidate and I initially was going to apply to USMA but didn't end up deciding to finish it, however they ordered an exam for me and I completed/passed it. Right now my status just says this:

Agency: US Military Academy
Current Medical Status: Qualified (as of 20-JUL-10 )

I'm assuming that if/when NROTC becomes one of my "agencies" it will mean I've been accepted.
