Recently I was filling out the section on the USAFA form where you enter teacher email addresses, when I hit a bit of a SNAFU. My math teachers for freshman and sophomore year have both moved away. My math teacher last year was a college Dual Credit professor, and he never really got to know me, or anyone in the class, and has subsequently been moved to a different campus. And this year, my school no longer has any remaining math classes for me to take, so I have no one to fill the slot for "math teacher". Would it be possible for my school guidance counselor to fill out this form? Should I call the academy office and see what they say? Or should I maybe get a science teacher to fill it out?

I appreciate you guys' help.

Calling the Academy couldn't hurt. They may tell you you:

A) You need to hunt down your Dual Credit professor

or

B) You can get your guidance counselor to fill it out

From my experiences (I'm just a Candidate myself) I'd say that's what you're likely to get. If they say it's ok to send in your sophmore/freshmen teacher's emails, I'd be surprised.

You have to give them all your math teachers?

No, just your teacher from Junior (possibly Senior) year. I think falconeer was listing how they had no viable way of getting one from any of their math teachers.

Most schools at least initially keep forwarding information (could be a cell phone number, email address, or snail mail address) for past employees. I would talk to your guidance counselor, who may be able to work with the school administration to help you get in contact with one or more of these teachers. Also, as suggested, asking Admissions for guidance.

My DS had a similar issue and he asked his ALO for advice. She referred him to his USAFA counselor. Contact info is on the home page of your application when you log in.

We ALO's will do that OFTEN in certain situations because:

a. The counselors are AMAZING! :thumb:
b. They "know all, see all, can IMPACT all!"
c. They're super friendly, truly CARE about the candidates, and will work tirelessly to help!
