I feel stupid I really do...I received an invitation to the Naval Academy CVW, but I can't find the letter. Does anyone know what the dates are? Or, if anyone has any suggestions for my hapless self that would great. Thank you.

Did you receive an invitation or did you accept the invitation and receive definite information on attending? I believe the first invites went out about a month ago for the October (14-16) and November (18-20) dates, but people reported that those sessions filled up very quickly, so I'd guess if you haven't replied to confirm yet, you probably wouldn't be able to attend those.

If you were confirmed and received the acceptance letter and that's what you misplaced, then there are two issues. One is just knowing the times and dates - for the next one (have my son's letter) you're supposed to report by 1715 on Thursday October 14th and it runs until 1100 on Saturday the 16th. I can give you any info on what it says to bring, etc. if you need that as well. However, it also included the letter which allows you (or your parents) to park on the yard on those days, so you would probably want to contact your regional director (you can get their info on your CIS) about getting that if you need it.

You could also contact your BGO if you have additional questions or would be interested in a future CVW if these aren't available.

Generally, can anyone tell me how many kids will attend CVW at any one given time? Daughter is attending November 18th session and was also wondering how the sleeping accomodations will work. Do they bring in a cot for the visiting candidate?

Also, we are going to the game on Saturday and I was curious about transportation from the hotel--staying at the historic inns of annapolis. Can you walk or is taxi the best mode of transportation?

Is anyone else going on the 18th?

My daughter will also be attending CVW in November. I don't know about the questions you asked, however. We have to be home Saturday evening, so we won't be attending the game.

We went last January and I want to guess there were between 80 and 100 kids. But that's just from judging when we were all in the conference room - not certain. My son had a cot they'd brought in for him, but brought a sleeping bag as directed (one of the small polartec type ones like they recommended for AF that didn't take much space when flying).

We are also curious about the game & parking. I can let you know when they get back from the October visit since they are also doing the game and my husband is staying up in Baltimore so will be driving in. When I was out there, we could park right on the Yard, even on Saturday (went to the Army/Navy Basketball games after), but I'm thinking football may be different. It didn't say anything different on the information sheet so he's thinking if he gets there early enough on Saturday he may still be able to park there. If not, I'm sure they'll tell him what to do/where to go!

Yes, my son will be there for the Nov 18-20 CVW. We are flying from CA to MD on Tuesday Nov 16 to visit my parents in Olney, MD. Then drive to Annapolis on Thursday and stay for the football game. It is a 1.4 mile walk from the Historic Inns of Annapolis on State Circle to the football stadium.

My daughter is attending CVW that same weekend. We are going to the game also! I think they do bring in cots for the visitors. I read somewhere that you should bring a sleeping bag or sheets. There are some threads floating around with some good information about CVW.
