Has anyone heard anything back from September Board?

Hi, I applied to NROTC, had everything turned in before the deadline for August Board, got ISD interview, didn't make it, so i missed the August Board pool :frown: Has anyone heard back from the September Board regarding their selection decision?
 
Good news! You didn't miss the August NROTC board.

Bad news is that there evidently wasn't an August NROTC board and so far nobody has reported receiving a NROTC scholarship from any boards that might meet in September.

Good luck and let us know if you "hear" anything.
 
No. NROTC Application site still says Application is at NETC awaiting selection determination.

Same here...I really wonder when we'll hear back.

Has anyone heard from their recruiter/coordinator about any boards that have recently met? Somebody's got to have heard something.

When I enter the NROTC Site, it says; "

In Scholarship Selection/Placement System
Status Information for your 2010 Scholarship Application
- I had everything entered in April and Officer Interview 2ns week in May
- Spoke to NY Recruiter, they told us there was an October Board
- Polled several NROTC Coordinators around U.S. over past week, little to no knowledge on when Boards where being held - most said we would hear before them.

Little Fact Based Info At This Point - All Opinions

Without painting with too broad of a brush; I think all the ROTC programs are somewhat secretive about their selection process/methods. How many high school scholarships? How many in-college scholarships? How are colleges assigned for the AROTC and NROTC scholarships? Lots of speculation but not many "official" answers. I think part of the problem is that there is lack of knowledge at the college ROTC level. Many of the cadre do not know the answers to the above questions. Not their fault...it is just (for whatever reason) not information that is shared with them.

Certainly people on this site will be among the first to know when any of the ROTC programs begin to release results. When/how those results are decided is IMHO subject to the whims (no August NROTC board?) of the military powers that be and evidently change year-to-year and budget-to-budget. Hm - hopefully one of you can help me out here. My son has had his whole file done for at least 3-4 weeks (as far as he knows!) but I've never checked online before for the status. When I enter his SSN and birthday, all it says is:

Scholarship Selection/Placement System
Status Information for your 2010 Scholarship Application

And then lists his SSN and DOB.

Am I missing something? I have the year right, correct? Does this mean that everything hasn't gone in? I find that a bit frustrating because his coordinator insisted he was complete and everything submitted I think the week of Sept 13th, so he was really hoping to have made the Sept board (assuming there was one! :wink: ).

Edited to add that it sounds like his says the same as NYEagle's - not sure what that means, but if it means he's missing something I'd like him to try to follow up and figure out what! Thanks!
 
My son's status shows the following. He (and I) are assuming his application is complete and ready to be boarded.

Where do I look for status?

Can you tell me where I find the status for the 2011 scholarships? The only status screen I have seen is for 2009 and 2010, which obviously is of no help.

I was meticulous in the submittal, have checked with the NROTC Scholarship Coordinator, Checked with the NY Recruiting District HQ and called several NROTC Commands and was assured I had nothing outstanding - that it was in the system and ready for Board Review -- so at least the feedback as consistant.

Good News Is....seems to be a lot of motivated students that really want to be part of this program - hardest part is waiting.
 
Mine says the same as aglages. I am starting to wonder if anybody really knows what is going on. None of my contacts can give me any board dates, so I would assume that there has not been a board. If anyone hears anything, please PM me so I will know!

Word for word, that's exactly what my status says. I wonder why there's a discrepancy between our status and other people's statuses?
 
mine is the same as both of yours. Didn't know if I should verbatim post what the site says, so I summarized.
 
Hi when I went to the NROTC Scholarship site - it displayed the message 2011

When you go into the NROTC web page, hit apply it returns the 2010 date - they just did not expand the site to include 2010. The Scholarship site is the most up to date.
 
As aglages pointed out, the scholarship status does say that boards will start in August. Assuming the August Board was in fact cancelled it seems unlikely that there hasn't been a board yet. At the very minimum, it would seem logical to have had one in September and maybe one coming up soon in October.

Unfortunately, I've experienced that mere logic doesn't explain anything about NROTC:frown:

I'm tempted to try emailing my recruiter but I don't want to bother him with information he probably doesn't know anyways.
 
Okay, think I'm finding the discrepancy. I used the link aglages provided (thanks!) and it's a totally different site than we were using to check. When I go to that site, my son's shows the exact same info you all listed, regarding the board in August, etc., which makes me feel a lot better. NYEagle - see if you use that site if you get the same info.

I had been checking the status on the site:

Which is where it says to check the status on your scholarships. There all I get returned is his SSN and DOB - any of you who have the other site might also want to check this one - no idea on where the info will show up for real! I know for AFROTC last year, my older son actually got his in the mail the same day it showed up online (and we got the mail first). But no clue on NROTC!

Yep once I checked the other site I got the same 2011 reponse as all of you.:thumb:
