My name is Haley, Im a senior in highschool and I want to attend the United States Air Force Academy. I was actually hoping if anyone could tell me if my CFA scores are good, I just took it yesterday, I know my mile is a problem but im hoping its not a failing time...

Bball throw: 43'
Shuttle run: 9.54 sec
Pull-ups: 1 (yes bad i know)
Situps: 77
Push-ups: 50
Mile 8:05

Is my mile gonna fail me for the entire test? Thanks

Hi!

Okay, first: relax!!!

Now...your scores. You did a pullup; many women can't and do the flexed arm hang. Your one pullup beats ALL of them, at least at USAFA. More would be better, but you did one!!! :thumb:

Pushups/Situps...NOT BAD! I'm a greedy ALO; I like MORE MORE MORE but...NOT BAD, excellent push ups! :thumb:

Shuttle and mile runs...they're solidly in the "typical/mean" scores for women in the past... not bad! :thumb:

BB Toss...you hit 43', the "typical/mean" from the past is (if I remember correctly) around 40' so...not bad! :thumb:

If you want to know the "mean" scores for women, these are from the USAFA Admissions CFA site:

BB Throw 40'
Shuttle run 10.4 sec
Pull-ups 3
Push-ups 36
Mod Sit-ups 72
Mile run 8:00 min

So...your numbers...as I said above: NOT BAD!! :thumb:

Thank you so much :) What I'm worried about though is I am medically disqualified at the moment, and had to take my CFA so that I could complete my file and get into the waiver process. Do you know approximately how long that could take?

It will depend upon a LOT of things:

a. What the DQ is for and is it waiverable in your case or any case?
b. Where your "package" places you in the quest for appointment

My reasons for these comments.

If your package shows you are not competitive for appointment, the SA will more than likely NOT approach the DODMERB for waiver consideration. If you ARE competitive and they desire to go to DODMERB, then each and every case, as Mr. Larry Mullen will tell you, is evaluated on a "case by case" basis.

To learn more about that, you should go to the DODMERB thread, read Mr. Mullen's "sticky" and if you have questions, send him an e-mail as he describes. He's VERY good at getting back to folks quickly and he IS the Deputy Director of DODMERB so he is THE MAN that knows!
