Hello everyone,

A few hours ago, I received an e-mail from Norwich University (my first choice school) saying that I have been "...assigned to Norwich University for your NROTC Scholarship". Yet my online status still says, "No decision has been made on your application". Has Norwich received an early roster for 2011 midshipmen? or is there some kind of error?
I questioned the contact at the university, and she only asked if I have completed my DoDMERB yet.
In addition, I read a recent post on this forum mentioning a PFA for NROTC applicants. It has slipped my mind, but is there some sort of physical aptitude test that I was supposed to complete?
This is the extent of my confusion concerning NROTC at the moment, thank you for your time!

The NROTC scholarship application does NOT require a physical fitness test. However all ROTC scholarship awardees must pass a DoDMERB physical which isn't scheduled until after you have been selected for a scholarship. have you attempted to set up and sign on to the DoDMERB site? In the past many scholarship awardees first became aware of their scholarships on that site.
Good Luck! :thumb:

Funnily enough, I just received my DoDMERB packet in the mail a couple of days ago. I do not know if it was from the guys at the Naval Academy or NETC (it says it was mailed from USAF actually), but I understand that passing the DoDMERB once qualifies you for ROTC, a service academy, etc. I have looked through the paperwork and am working on scheduling an appointment through the US Embassy here.

Is it common for the university to notify you of your placement though? Because when I read that I was placed, I immediately jumped to the conclusion that my application for the scholarship was processed and accepted.

All I can say is it sounds like good news to me....good luck!! :thumb:

I don't know whether it is common or not. Neither of my children waited for one of their colleges to call. They checked the DoDMERB site and scholarship sites daily so they usually found out before the college. Have you signed on to the DoDMERB site? What does it say?

I have just now entered my information into the DoDMERB site (gave the site my social and birthday) and the account was created. They have all of the information there already, when I was entered into the DoDMERB site (21-10). and both the Naval Academy and Naval ROTC agencies say "Current Medical Status: In Process". I am going to take this as a good thing, because now, all I have to do is have my DoDMERB Physical completed and submitted (which will be soon).

@k2rider, thanks for the cheers :thumb:

I'd say that is VERY good news. It looks as though you have been awarded a NROTC scholarship and probably to Norwich University (since they called you). Congratulations!!! :yay::yay::yay:
