Anyone know why all 4th reg privileges were lost for AF weekend?

Yeah, we were pretty disappointed to have driven a LONG distance and end up having to eat Schade's pizza in a parking lot with the cadet.

The rumor is a cadet threw a orange out of a window. The orange hit a cadet in the face breaking the cadets glasses. The cadet ended up going to the hospital. The cadet that went to the hosptial is ok. I guess the cadets have to be taught a lesson.

The reason that cadets lost their privileges is due to a lot of different reasons (that don't really need public mention). Ultimately, a string of things that shouldn't have happened, did.

Either way, cadets could have submitted an exception to policy memo if their family was coming up. My roommate did and his got approved.

That is a very diplomatic and mature response. Good work, private.

LOVEARMY, take a hint from the young man's post above and don't venture into rumors and conjecture. Passing off rumors as information is a bad policy, and certainly doesn't need to happen on this forum.

Ok, ScoutPilot. You are right. I should have said "three 4th reg cadets told me at the football game they lost privileges due to cadet throwing a piece of fruit out a window and hitting a cadet in the face, breaking the cadets glasses and causing possible injury". This was probably cadets venting and there was much more involved that did not have knowledge of.

I am surprised he/she didn't submit an exception to policy memo. I didn't hear of a single one that wasn't approved if family was coming.

ScoutPilot, you've sent some rumor and conjecture in my direction on this forum yourself. You seem to spend effort telling people what not to post.
Disagreement is fine, and there are some instances where I wouldn't participate or prolong a discussion, but please don't chill discussion as much as you do.

I don't recall ever posting rumors as an answer to a question. Feel free to call me out if I do, or show me where I have.

If the details of incident were intended to be public knowledge, they'd have posted them on the scoreboard at halftime.

My intent was to lighten up the discussion and say a cadet or cadets were engaged in some horseplay. Plan and simple. There was no bad intent. Cadets are the same as all other young adults in college all over the country. Sometimes cadets cut loose and do silly things, it is normal. It happens all the time. I just hope they do not break the rules and compromise their education or maybe something worse. I would never post anything that would reflect badly on the academy. I just felt it was a open forum for sharing, my mistake.

I don't think your post was malicious, and I phrased my response poorly. I apologize for not choosing more exact language and conveying my tone better. From my perspective as "old guy" who has seen both sides of it, it's never a good thing when the rumor-mill starts running rampant.

I'm sure there were many issues at play. But, soon enough they'll be back to normal.

Just another point of view: as cadets, parents, and grads we are often privvy to information that really is best "kept in the family." While we might like to air Navy's dirty laundry, :thumb: we don't want to air our own. Just something to consider...

There was a 4th reg cadet in here yesterday who was reading the memo. Suffice to say that it was more than just throwing fruits.
