MOC Nomination - Texas

Unless one of your MOCs has turned in their slate early, you probably won't hear about a MOC nomination until after Jan 31.
 
Dont know about Texas, but my son just got his last night from Congressman Obey in Wisconsin. Being he already received his LOA, he appears to be all set.

Just found on on Friday he won the Wendy's Heisman award for the State of Wisconsin and now a nomintaion. Life is good!!
 
MOC Nomination

For our congressional district MOC Nominations come out sometime in January. Per Senator Cornyn's website his nominations committee meets Nov 19 and makes a decision before Thanksgiving, not sure when the nominees will be notified. Per Senator Hutchinson website it is January. My son is patiently waiting to hear.
 
Texas MOC's

Pretty sure all Texas MOC's will start looking at apps Thanksgiving-Christmas. Cornyn is the only one that DS got a letter specifically saying he should hear something around Thanksgiving. Also been told Texas MOC's communicate and compare so as not to duplicate nominations, but have seen posts here that some will get multiple MOC noms.

For the Class of 2014, Senator Hutchison sent a notification as early as November 6, 2009 (I know a cadet/Class of 2014 who received the nomination from Senator Hutchison). Should we expect a similar situation for the Class of 2015 candidates? By the way, our congressional district does interviews on 11-19-2010 which is the same date that Senator Cornyn's committee meets.
 
Son received his nomination last year from Senator Hutchison at the beginning of November......also, TX MOC's WILL duplicate nominations - or did so last year......
 
Way back in the day (2005-2006) I received my nomination from Sen Cornyn during the Thanksgiving break, my nomination from my local congressman mid-December, and notification from Sen Hutchinson in January (though it sounds like she's sped up her process now).

My son received a nomination from our Congressman today (there was an interview with our congressman's academy nominations committee on 11-19-2010 and he received a phone call today). Since he already received an LOA (July 26), he's expecting an appointment very soon.

Also, Senator Cornyn's Academy Selection Board was scheduled to meet on 11-19-2010. Candidates wil be notified of the board's decision by letter shortly thereafter

So the interview was yesturday? Thats a prettyt quick turnaround!!

Daughter received 2 phone calls Tuesday: 1 from Cornyn's office and 1 from our Rep's office. They left messages on her cell to call their office, but now with the holidays it will have to wait til Monday. Nail biting. BTW--she casually mentioned this to me and my husband last night :eek:

Cornyn

Just notified by his office this AM that Daughter got a nom to West Point. They said to expect a letter by the end of this week. :thumb:
