I received an LOA in October and my Senator just announced me as one of his nominees. What comes next? Will WP send me a notice of appointment in the mail or do I need to inform my MALO that I have received a nomination? I know I have all the pieces of the puzzle but I'm not sure if that means I'm set to go.

Thanks!

If a nomination is all your LOA was contingent upon then you will be receiving an appointment shortly. You don't have to tell your MALO. Congratulations! :thumb:

- MOC has to post the nom's to USMA's port. You'll be able to see when that happens, the nom will show up.

- If your file is complete, it can happen pretty fast from there! Just a few business days in one case I'm aware of. :thumb:

So the part in your control is to confirm that your files is complete, all LOA contingencies removed, etc. Hopefully you've been doing that all along!

All that assumes no complications in slates, etc. There are reports on the forum that if some of the noms on the slate do not have complete files it can delay appointment for LOA holders until they all complete.

just a little heads up - the MOC is not required to post noms until 1/31 and while many may notify the candidate of the nom selection earlier, they may not post the slate to the SA until later. There are a lot of reasons that they may choose to delay the submission. I know I've gone into that part of a MOC strategy in prior threads last year or the prior year, it can be somewhat complicated to explain. It is an online submission but there is also a paper document that the MOC signs too (the official part). Since the nom is not technically "due" from the MOC until 1/31, some MOCs will hold off until mid to late January to actual submit the slate. It just means a little more waiting on your part but doesn't change the outcome for you- an LOA plus a Nom = Appointment.

Ok, I checked my candidate portal and it shows that I have a nomination from so and so district. The only contingencies of my LOA were file completion (done) and a nomination, as well as continued success in school. I have the first two, but how exactly is "continued success" defined? I shouldn't have any problems but I'm curious .

I think "continued success" means not failing any of your courses, which probably shouldn't be happening anyway.

I think admissions is vague on purpose...aka keep doing your best!
