In terms of scholarship, I'm aware that you have no obligation until your sophomore year during college, compared to non-scholarship you have until junior year. But I am aware you need to be a US Citizen, now does that mean SCHOLARSHIP wise, you have to be a US Citizen by your first day in college, or by the time you contract which is sophomore year? NON-SCHOLARSHIP wise, do you have to be a US Citizen by your first day in college, or by junior year? And for both, I'm sure you can apply for ROTC (scholarship or not) as a non-US Citizen, correct?

I mean, I'm sure for the Air Force ROTC because in the application it states current citizenship status and if I'm going to become a US Citizen before fall of next year. But for Army ROTC, not too sure because they sent me a mail stating I was disqualified for not being a US Citizen. Maybe I haven't specified somewhere that I'll be obtaining my citizenship by next year's fall? But I'm pretty sure that the same concept must apply to all ROTC's so, can anyone clarify this for me.

just call the cadet command and ask them. that's the final word on this.
I personally doubt that they will grant the scholarship on the assumption that you will get the citizenship by the fall. Nobody can guarantee that. INS can take their sweet time and there might be a glitch during the application process.

My dreams of attending a civilian university with a ROTC Scholarship cannot simply deteriorate like that, so I'm not believing that. Why else would they include a "Are you currently applying for U.S. Citizenship?" after "Are you a U.S. Citizen?"
Any inputs on this?

I would assume that as you received a letter from the AROTC stating that you were disqualified for not being a US Citizen that it means that you are disqualified. Sorry about that but I would still contact Cadet Command and reconfirm.
