Got my confirmation/official letter today from CC. No paperwork foulups or anything, everything is the same as on the status website. My letter says I have to make a decision by 19 Dec. :thumb:

Guess everyone else's will be out soon!

Thanks :thumb:
I had everything for the scholarship finished including the interview and PFT in the middle of August.

my son got the letter today also. As we expected, 3 schools, all 4 year scholarships.

With this confirmation, he is converting the regular admissions application he already submitted to early decision, and the school is accommodating him given the special circumstance even though the ED deadline has passed.

The ED decision will come out before Dec 19, so everything is working out exactly as we planned.

This Thanksgiving dinner will be wonderful.

My son got his letter today. One school, 4 year scholarship, Princeton University. He is very grateful.

my son also told me that now he is able to log in to the DoDMERB site. Until today, the system kept saying that there is nobody matching his SSN.

Just checked again. I have already had my exam and been qual'd for USMA but today is the first time my AROTC part has shown up as 'in process'.

Same situation, but waiting on a waiver for USMA. Today the AROTC part showed up for me too. Does this mean we were offered scholarships and just haven't received notification yet?

Letter arrived - 4 year to top 3 schools. ED from #1 pending on 1 Dec.

We have been watching this forum for weeks now and would like to thank you all for the valuable information and for helping make the waiting period bearable!!! We received our letter today for 4 year to number one school!!! DS is already qualified medically and been accepted to school!!!

My question is...: when we send in the letter of intent...what do we do if in the future months he gets an appointment to one of the Academies or an additional ROTC offer? Is there one date or time when you have to lock in your decision?

you can already send in the confirmation form choosing #1 school. If you get in USMA, you can then choose NOT to use the ROTC scholarship, and that will make one candidate who will replace your spot very happy indeed. No penalty.

If you don't get in USMA, then you go to #1 school with a full scholarship.

Congrats!

Question About AROTC Selection

I have a few qestions I hope someone can answer. First off my DS got a call from one of his top 3 selected schools ROTC Dept today stating they were sorry but he was not selected to attend their school (specifically their school only) on an ROTC scholarship:eek:.

Now the thing that has us wondering is that his DoDMerb site came up today under Agency stating that the U.S. Army ROTC is now in process as of 11/22/10.

The questions are could he have gotten the scholarship for some other school as from what I have read on here the DoDMerb is a pretty reliable indicator of this. And what is the likelyhood that the school would send a condolence if he did receive a scholarship to another school.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated to help calm some nerves:redface:

this is a very easy problem to solve.

go to this site and enter the SSN and birthday.

https://schlr4yr.usarmyrotc.com/scholarshipstatus/cadetstatushome.html

it tells you where your kid got the scholarship. What it does NOT tell you is whether s/he got the 3 year or 4 year scholarship.

For that, you need to wait for the letter from the CC or talk to the ROO/PMS of the schools listed. (by the way, my son got the letter today).

good luck.

Congratulations go out to you and your son:thumb:

As for the site you suggested we have been checking there and it is still stuck on the "You have been selected for an interview" statement, which it has been since August. I guess we are in a holding pattern until we hear anything else, hopefully since we live in the sticks the mail is just slow. Thank you for your help and again Congratulations:thumb:

4 year ROTC scholarship  received but says not medically qualified BUT DS previously received letter stating he was medically qualified for USMA. Will this info transfer over to ROTC automatically or do we have to do something?
(We can't remember user name or password and are getting locked out of Dodmerb because of trying too many times.) Thanks for any help.

Ohiostatedad,

If the status page still says "selected for an interview" he most likely did not recieve a scholarship offer on the Oct. board. This means his application will be rolled over to the next board. One thing to be aware of, a larger number of scholarships will probably be offered on the second board, there will also be a third board. This would mean the the number one school choice should still be in play for the next board unless all their slots were filled this board, which is unlikely. Remember slots may open at the school if anyone declines a scholarship to that school.

Also remember that you can go into the application and add, change the order, or delete schools before the next board, just do it befor Dec. 27th.

Good Luck

but if a candidate was not granted the scholarship why would the DoDMERB site say "the ARMY ROTC now is in process".

this is the same message my son told me that he saw when he logged into the DoDMERB site with his SSN.

If anything, it sounds like the ROTC status site is wrong.

I would suggest a call to the Cadet Command. Or, you can wait another day or two for a scholarship letter from the CC. My son got it today, but it may take another day or so in some other part of the country (we live in the eastern seaboard - not that far away from the CC).

That does seem to be a bit of a mystery.

Cadet Command is a bit frazzled these days, they are just completing a move from Virginia to Ft. Knox so it would not surprise me that some things may not have been updated. There are only about 8 people that process the thousands of applicants, and one of them is out of the office.

Call the other schools on your son's list and check with each of them, now that notification has been sent out they should be able to look and see his official status.
Good luck
