It can be very important, there was a youngman from our area, who was in CAP and received an appointment to one of the SA's. It shows leadership, it is never to late to start.

Does CAP help with getting accepted into WP?
I know. I hear they do a lot of community service and I can get leadership positions too.
I'm at USMAPS right now and I honestly don't think I would be here if it were not for CAP.
People in CAP say that "you get out of it what you put in to it"- and it's true. If you're really involved with it, then you are truly underestimating the weight that being in CAP has on your appearance and application; however, if you're just the average cadet in CAP, then it'll be just another box to check off on your application.
Personally, I held leadership positions, joined the drill team, and went to many special activities in CAP. Going to interviews/information seminars in uniform really helped me out.
So I guess you could say it's specific to each case, but I suggest getting very involved and emphasizing the fact that you're in CAP (during interviews, phone calls, e-mails, and your application).
I definitely agree with everyone else though- don't do it just to check off the box! Best of luck!
Based on what I've seen in C.A.P., you either like it or you don't. I would agree with doing it if you like it... because if you don't it is very hard to stick with. As is anything, of course.
If you're in uniform you have to follow customs and courtesies at all times. I.E. saluting flag outdoors. I'm not exactly sure how interviews in uniform would work as I personally wouldn't choose to (Unless I would have to for some reason).
Haha, I thought I only said "you get out of it what you put into it." I guess I'm not the only one.
can anyone help me because i want to go to West Point but i want to know everything to get in?
