Are appointments to a service academy offered when a candidate has not been qualified by DoDMERB? Is the qualified status required, first?
Thanks!

They are known as "conditional appointments" and they happen all the time.

A "full" appointment cannot be awarded unless the candidate is (1)-qualified scholastically/academically, (2)-physically (fitness test), and (3)-medically (by DODMERB).

Appointment LOAs or any other appointment may be issued by the service academy prior to DoDMERB review or final medical determination. Qualified by DoDMERB is required. DoDMERB problems should be addressed to Larry Mullen at the DoDMERB web site on this forum. He is the go to guy for any questions. He is the best and can help you with any questions. We had some strange problems with medical and DoDMERB worked with us and with the Driectors help everything worked out.

Didn't See that Larry jumped in but ask him the questions.
