I was wondering if anyone with a similar profile has been offered a position at the prep school?

25 ACT - the only non-competitive score was reading (22)
active church member
received nomination from congressman

I went to Northwestern preparatory school. Call up the school and talk to Mrs. D she is a wonderful lady and will help you out. I went without a scholarship didn't get an appointment but am hoping to this year. I know others who did though. Look into that.

OH GOODY!

I don't know much and I happened upon this thread but if you are talking about USMAPS or something like that, I know of quite a few people who were qualified for West Point with a score of 25 and lower GPA and leadership activities. If you are qualified everyone on these forums say you are over qualified for a prep school although they also always say they take who they want.

They do take who they want, but if you have an ACT of 29/30 and a gpa uw of 3.5 you will not get the slot.

Prep exists not for EC or CFA weaknesses, but PAR. They see the candidate just needing one more yr of academics to be competitive compared to others.

you actually sound a lot like me a year ago. I was waitlisted at navy and eventually rejected. there is hope however. I found out about Northwestern Preparatory School in Crestline, CA. It is a foundation school that takes in both students on scholarship and "free agents" that aren't on scholarship. I funded my way through there, bumped my SAT scores up with their help, became stronger academically, and overall just became a better candidate. Now I'm 3 q'd and sitting on a principal nomination, just waiting for my acceptance letter.
If you are rejected and you really want this, I would strongly suggest you look into my school. PM me if you have any questions.
