Has anyone gotten an appointment off of the NWL yet?

I haven't even been placed on the NWL yet nor have I received word of an appointment.

just curious about how many people have already

I received a nomination in December but have not heard whether I have been placed on the NWL (I'm 3q'ed). I emailed admission and they said that they are waiting for all MOCs to report their slates before they make a lot more offers of admission.

They haven't even sent my 3q'ed letter yet...

Got my NWL letter in early January, got my appointment this past weekend

My son received his NWL letter September 22 and received his appointment in November.

For those of you who received an appointment after being told that you were on the NWL...did you also have a LOA?

Those with an LOA do not go on the NWL. They just receive an appointment once their file is complete + nom + dodmerb qualification.

Before I recieved my appointment, my MALO told me that admissions will constantly be giving out appointments off the NWL. They just start picking people off the top with the highest WCS every so often. This has been going on since atleast November.

Yes and no. LOA holders who are not principle nominees are frequently charged against NWL slots.

For clarification, an LOA holder gets a NWL slot without the wait?

If a candidate has an LOA and a nomination, but is not the principle nominee, he/she will be granted an appointment. However, for the MOC who provided the nomination, his/her principle nominee (if appointed) will be charged against the MOC's total number of cadets. The LOA is often (but not always) charged against the NWL. Sometimes the appointee with the LOA can be charged against another MOC, but not always.

My daughter didn't get LOA and never got triple Q'd letter or NWL letter or anything from admissions whatsover but got appointment after New Years. The one consistent thing is there is no consistent thing in the USMA admissions process! Just keep the faith! Good luck to everyone, I know the waiting is frustrating.

Yes it is Very frustrating

I know about the 'hurry up and wait' game, my Dad has been in the Army for 20 years so far. At the same time this is something I am finding very difficult to have patience on. I want to come home and see a BFE waiting for me. I received 3 nominations one being a MoC of course. But due to my state representative's policy of "no duplications", (they talk to eachother to make sure no one candidate gets more than one MoC nomination) I lost the chance for senatorial nominations. I got my congressmans before the senators even held their boards.

Then I found out that they recruited the members for the soccer team already.

Then on 28 January I got a letter saying fully qualified and nominated but we are putting you on the NWL.

I feel my chances slipping away with each slap of information. I'm high average or above average in all the criteria being looked at. My patience meeter is being tried on this one!

As long as you earn a nomination, you're fine. Your chances don't necessarily increase if you have a senatorial nomination or a congressional nomination. A nomination is just a nomination.

I'm in the same spot as you, minus the NWL letter and the 3Q'd letter... I'm almost at that stage though.

However, the bulk of appointments are sent out around March so I'm staying hopeful until then.

Dang, I had two nominations (JROTC and Presidential) and my MoC and Senators wouldnt give me another one so youre pretty lucky you got your extra MoC one anyways. Its cool though, I already have my appointment.

i ended up with 2 senatorial noms, and my representative nom. struck out on all three. just prayin to be picked off the nwl

Struck out?

What do you mean by struck out and how did you determine that or how do you know? Thanks.

well my regional commander told me that they had awarded the guaranteed appointment to others on all of my nomination slates. 1 out 10 of the nominees from your MOC automatically goes, the rest go to the NWL if they are fully qualified, unless they have an LOA
