Hi all,
I am applying to USNA Class of 2015. I applied last year during my senior year of high school and ended up being 3 Q'd with a nomination, but unfortunately I did not receive an offer of appointment. Currently I am a first year student at the University of California Santa Barbara. My application is complete and I have received another nomination from my MOC. My BGO tells me that my application is much stronger this year than last, so I am hopeful that things will work out this time around. I was wondering, if I receive an Offer of Appointment this time around, do I need to take classes here at Santa Barbara during my last quarter in the spring? I know that USNA does not transfer credit from previous four year universities and instead places you into classes based on validation tests during plebe summer. I am already taking advanced classes this year because of all my AP tests and I am almost at Junior level standing based on my credits. I am taking advanced level chemistry, physics, and calculus, so I am fairly confident that if I am accepted, I will be able to test out of some of my plebe level classes. So I was wondering, is there any other reason to finish the year at Santa Barbara if I am accepted? I was thinking that if I do in fact receive an Offer of Appointment, I could go home and work and spend time with the family before I-Day. Please let me know if you guys have any thoughts on this. Thanks so much.
