Hello guys, Im new to the forums here, and I have a question about my file for appointment to the USMA.

It has me listed under the class of 2015, yet it still says my initial evaluation is pending, and does not show the different status icons for my information.

Does anyone know the reason behind this?

It's the same way for me. Do you know if it's always been like that?

It has, even though it said it would start in June of 2010. Ive heard back from my local congressman for my appointment and everything. But its looking more and more like I'm going to be class of 2016 instead of 2015, because class of 2015 has heard about their appointments correct?

because class of 2015 has heard about their appointments correct?

Not correct. Most appointments will be going out over the next 6-8 weeks. Some people have heard (mostly LOA recipients and recruited athletes), but most have not. If you have questions about the portal, call your admissions rep; that is part of his/her job.

No not everyone has heard. Some people may hear that they have received an appointment around April. If you have talked to your congressman and to your regional admissions rep. and they both say you are going to receive an appointment then no worries:thumb:.

Oh ok :) I obviously misread some earlier posts on the forums!
My congressman told my my nomination will be no problem, but what is strange is I didn't contact at all on my own. My local liaison did it on their own accord, is this a good sign?

Im not sure I am still a hopeful like you but I will go ahead and say that it is not a bad sign.

I hope it is too. I was so shocked and relieved at once when I got a personal call from him saying he had just talked to the USMA admissions liaison and would gladly give me my nomination to the USMA. Best of luck to you too friend! :thumb:

Onawen- When did you apply to West Point?

And your file is complete?
Are you saying that none of your red icons on the portal have turned to green?

Good luck to all of you. You are still very much within the acceptance window for 2015.

Onawen,

Two scenarios

1. Something is wrong, as if you opened your file in Aug 2010, the admissions office should have at least screened you by now

2. How much of your application have you completed? Have you submitted your SAT/ACT scores, filled out your initial activities report, sent in your highschool transcript?

Even if you opened your filed back in August but if you have not submitted some key information, the admissions office cannot evaluate you.
