I heard a rumor that the Navy isn't giving anymore scholarships to VMI. I sent an email to VMI NROTC a week ago and haven't heard back. Does anyone know for sure if this is true?

Also today I got a pretty nice merit scholarship to Norwich. If I wanted to major in criminal justice and do pre-law and still earn a commission in the Navy by doing NROTC would I be allowed to? I don't know what the rules are about non-scholarship midshipmen. Is it a disadvantage to be in NROTC not on a scholarship? I would have to major in engineering if I took an NROTC scholarship and this is sounding like a good option.

Thanks for the help!

If you are unable to combine Criminal Justice with NROTC you might want to consider AROTC. There are no restrictions on academic major.

I've also heard that rumor so I sent an email a week or so ago, they told me that rumor is not true and they are still giving out scholarships.
